Founder

Prof. N. Ananthachar was born in a culturally rich family, deeply rooted in Shastras, Vedas and the Upanishads. With the ever growing quest for knowledge, he grew up to be on his own at a young age.

The college is located 9 kms away from the city railway station and Kempegowda bus station/Majestic area, 5kms from M.G road, 3kms from Jayanagar 4th block.

Teaching was an irresistible art that he had mastered. He had a burning desire to educate the illiterate and the underprivileged when formal education was meant for a chose few during the Preindependece days. His indomitable will and boundless courage drew the attention of Sri Navaratna Rama Rao, who became his mentor for a journey together in establishing the school Acharya Pathasala in Basavanagudi.

The College conducts various extra curricular activities and participation in national level and university level sports is encouraged workshops are conducted in different departments to inculcate Scientific temperament in students.

In August 1935, Sri N. Ananthachar had started his lifes mission with a handful of students and transformed it into an institution in less than a year, getting recognition from the Government of the day.

Most of the departments get 100% results in each semester examinations. Many student centric activities conducted every year are fully sponsored and motivated by the generous Management of our institution.

Sri Ananthachar became the Founder Secretary and continued his ceaseless endeavour. A Master of Arts from Mysore University, this educationist was also versatile in being a planner, engineer, administrator, counsellor and above all, was the most sought-after person by students and parents alike.

A School that was founded in 1935 became an Institution in 1936 and grew up to a group of Institution, under the aegis of Acharya pathashala as a registered Association. The tremendous growth of several schools and colleges of Acharya Pathasala and its acquisition of a sprawling 105 acres campus at Somanahalli made it inevitable for the Association to be convertedinto a Public Trust which was registered on 16th May 1975.

It was renamed as Acharya Pathasala Educational Trust during the tenureof Sri K.M. Nanjappa as its President and Sri Ananthachar as its Secretary. APS Educational Trust has adapted itself to change with remarkable alacrity of schools, colleges of Arts, Science & Commerce, a Computer Centre, Polytechnic college and an Engineering College. The Engineering College, Polytechnic and the Rural High school are located at the Anantha Ganga Gangothri Campus in Somanahalli on Kanakapura National Highway.
